Kathy Joseph

Winemaker / Owner

Many moons ago, I decided to be a winery with purpose. I fell in love with wines where you could easily perceive texture (or more commonly called “elegance”)- so those more transparent wines.  And I wanted to make great food wines- so wines with balance- where no one component overpowered any other.  And I was a believer in the importance to place- that is, the importance of where the grapes are grown, knowing that factor creates character in those grapes and the resulting wine. I was willing to relocate to an amazing growing area of lesser fame, with hopes of elevating it to greatness (which happened!). So here we are 33 years later living the dream- making Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc and Grüner Veltliner in a handmade style called “delicious”.

2014 '728' Pinot Noir - Women Behind the Wine 15% OFF

Our signature wine from our estate Vineyard in the heart of the Sta. Rita Hills. This wine reflects the cool climate influence on Fiddlestix fruit and is a blend of all six clones planted in this Vineyard. Our terroir always gives forth to great color, fabulous spicy aromatics, broad textures, a juicy mid-palate and sassy acidity, and produces a wine saturated with the essence of smoky, black cherry cola. It's incredibly true to Pinot noir, true to its roots and always aged in the bottle prior to release for your ultimate enjoyment. Fiddlestix Vineyard delivers every time!
